Proton recalls Satria Neo, Gen.2

SUBANG JAYA: National carmaker Proton has announced a recall of its Gen.2 and Satria Neo models made between 2004 and 2008 because of potential safety concerns over a clock spring malfunction.
The clock spring connects switches and airbags to the radio, horn and cruise control.

The recall, according to a statement by Proton yesterday, is part of the company’s Global Quality Assurance (GQA) programme.

It affects 15,911 cars out of a total of 660,000 produced and sold by Proton over the four-year period.

Proton Holdings Bhd managing director Datuk Syed Zainal Abidin Syed Mohamad Tahir said: “Although the number is small, the safety of our customers is paramount and we apologise for any inconvenience caused.

“The recall is an example of the commitment we place on our customers’ safety and the reliability of our vehicles under Proton’s GQA programme.” Proton, which was established in 1983, is Malaysia’s largest carmaker and the only full-fledged original equipment manufacturer in Southeast Asia.

Routine tests by Proton have identified irregularities with the clock spring, including friction noise within the steering wheel, activation of horn or car lights without warning, audio control switch malfunction and, in extreme cases, deployment of the driver’s side airbag.

“We hope our customers understand that this recall is necessary to ensure their continued confidence in the safety and performance of their vehicles,” said Syed Zainal Abidin.

Owners of the affected models can contact any authorised Proton service centre for a free inspection. All labour and parts costs related to the replacement of the clock spring are free.

Proton will be sending letters to affected customers notifying them of the matter, besides setting up a dedicated website ( www.protonaftersales.com ) to help customers check the year of manufacture of their vehicles.

For more information and clarification, owners can call Proton i-Care at 1-300-880-888 or contact their local dealer.

Human

Have you ever felt like going back? Have you ever felt regret? As if you could go back to that one point in time, where you wish you'd acted in another way. Or if you didn't say what you ever said. Or you never did what you ever did, because you knew what you did was wrong, since you had a bad feeling in your heart, telling you that you have erred. And you want to fix things and make everything okay, but you just don't know how... I'm sure most of us have felt that way, simply because we are human... And the nature of humans, we always make mistakes... And we always do wrong. As humans, we are full of imperfections... But it is how we handle those imperfections, how we improve ourselves, how we fulfil our responsibilities as a servant and as a caliph in this world that matters in the end...   I am human. I am not perfect. I'm not the best servant of the Almighty God, I'm not the best daughter, I'm not the best friend, I'm not the best leader, I'...

Who are we? Should we do this to the nature?

Salam, Today I want to try to make the English entry. But I only do half of entry only. The rest I use the Malay language As you know, Malaysia has a natural forest environment. The country's equatorial climate caused many tourists come to Malaysia for travel. Today, I want to tell a story that happened right in front of me. I hope this incident can serve as a lesson to us as human beings who are appointed by God to preserve the earth.

Pedoman - Solat, Umpama Mandi Lima Kali Sehari

By S.A. Salam kepada semua pembaca, Jabir r.a menceritakan bahawa dia mendengar Rasullah s.a.w. bersabda, "Lima kali solat setiap hari itu umpama sebuah anak sungai yang mengalir di depan pintu rumah seseorang yang mandi di dalamnya lima kali sehari." Abu Hurairah r.a menceritakan bahawa Rasullah s.a.w. pernah bertanya pada sahabatnya ; " Adakah kamu percaya bahawa kotoran melekat pada tubuh seseorang yang mandi lima kali sehari dalam sungai yang mengalir di depan rumahnya?"
